In the Silence, Resurrection Begins

In the Silence, Resurrection Begins

This Lent, I chose something simple.

Silence.

Not because I had nothing to say.

But because I realized I had forgotten how to listen.

1. The Noise Before the Resurrection

We live surrounded by noise.

Notifications.
Messages.
Infinite content.

Even in moments that should be sacred…

We reach for our phones.

Not out of need.

But out of habit.

And slowly…

We lose the ability to be present.

But resurrection does not begin in noise.

It begins in silence.

2. Listening and Fasting

During this Lent, I was deeply moved by the reflection of the Pope.

He reminds us that Lent is a time of conversion.

A return.

A realignment of the heart.

And that everything begins with listening.

Listening is not passive.

It is an act of openness.

A willingness to be reached.

Because the one who listens…

Is the one who is ready to be transformed.

And then comes fasting.

Not only from food.

But from everything that fills us without nourishing us.

Noise.
Distraction.
Excess words.

Fasting reveals hunger.

And hunger reveals truth.

IMPORTANT

We do not fast to lose — we fast to make space for what truly gives life.

3. The Desert Within

Lent is a desert.

Not a punishment.

But a preparation.

In the desert, distractions disappear.

And what remains is essential.

Jesus entered the desert before beginning His mission.

And we are invited to do the same.

To face the silence.

To face ourselves.

To face God.

Because transformation does not happen in comfort.

It happens in surrender.

4. The Silence of Holy Saturday

There is a moment that many forget.

Between the Cross and the Resurrection.

Holy Saturday.

A day of silence.

A day where nothing seems to happen.

No miracles.
No answers.
No movement.

Only waiting.

Only trust.

And yet…

It is in that silence that everything is being prepared.

5. What Silence Does to Us

When you remove noise…

You begin to hear again.

Your thoughts.
Your fears.
Your desires.

And deeper still…

You begin to hear God.

Not in loud answers.

But in subtle movements.

In peace.
In clarity.
In presence.

Silence does not empty you.

It reorders you.

6. Resurrection Is Not Noise

We often think of resurrection as something loud.

Victorious.
Explosive.
Obvious.

But the path to it is quiet.

It passes through:

  • Listening
  • Fasting
  • Waiting
  • Trusting

Before new life appears…

Something old must die.

Not physically.

But internally.

Distractions.
Attachments.
Illusions of control.

7. Living Easter Differently

Easter is not just a celebration.

It is an invitation.

To live differently.

To carry silence into the noise.

To carry presence into distraction.

To carry God into the ordinary.

Because resurrection is not just something that happened.

It is something that continues.

In us.

In the Silence, God Speaks

God does not compete with noise.

He speaks in silence.

Not to impress us.

But to transform us.

And it is in that silence that hope is born — not as a feeling, but as certainty.

As Scripture reminds us:

“Hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts.” — Romans 5 : 5

Spes non confundit.

Hope does not fail.

Even when everything feels silent.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46 : 10

Resurrection does not begin with action.

It begins with stillness.
